Plant a tree and grow a memory with the Park Ridge Friends of the Parks. The commemorative tree program,
coordinated with the Park Ridge Park
District, allows you to dedicate a tree
to significant people and occasions in
your life.
When you plant a tree, you are doing
more than simply putting a plant in the ground. You are making a long-term commitment to the environment and implanting the memories of your loved one, organization, or event for countless years to come. It is a unique tribute which provides global benefits like no other
gift could.
Donate a Bench
Bench donations offer a meaningful way for park-goers to connect with their favorite places and to honor loved ones, friends, family, organizations and special achievements. The Park Ridge Friends of the Parks is pleased to offer the Park Bench Donation Program in cooperation with the Park Ridge Park District. Your bench will enhance the aesthetic and landscape value of our community for all to enjoy while preserving the legacy of a family member, friend, or organization.
The Park Ridge Park District selected
attractive six foot benches made of
recycled plastic lumber that are durable,
environmentally friendly, and easy to
maintain. The bench is installed in
designated locations within the Park Ridge
Park District’s boundaries. Park District
staff coordinates location with interested
donors. Your $2,000 donation covers the cost of the bench and standard plaque engraving. Bench installation and ongoing maintenance costs are paid by the Park Ridge Park District. Bench donations are accepted on the basis that they will be maintained for 15 years.
Commemorative trees, planted in Park Ridge parks, are available for a donation of $750, which includes the tree and a 6”x9” oval bronze plaque. Tree planting and ongoing maintenance costs are paid by the Park Ridge Park District. Tree selection and planting locations are chosen based on species, topography, soil condition, light exposure, and appropriateness for placement in the preferred park. These factors are determined by the Park Ridge Park District staff to ensure
that the commemorative tree will continue
to thrive for many years to come. The Park
Ridge Friends of the Parks guarantees the
health of the tree for three years following
the initial planting of the tree.
Tree and bench purchases can be made at any time. Bench installation occurs as the weather permits; tree plantings occur in the fall.
